BJJ Charity Event raises $2,200 for St. Jude and Mission 22

What's better than learning MIND BLOWING BJJ on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon? How about Learning MIND BLOWING BJJ for a FANTASTIC cause!

We want to give a big Thank you to Mr. Mike Braswell from Louisiana Black Belt Academy in Bossier City for the Mission 22 / St. Jude Charity event Seminar that he hosted today at his school.

There were students and schools from Morgan City, Lafayette, West Monroe and Arkansas just to name a few. Over 15 brown belts taught a move each for the seminar, followed by a friendly open mat. It was great to see a great group of people come together to share Jiu-jitsu for a good cause. One of Mr. Mike's own teenage students had an experience with cancer when he was younger. He had to spend 2 years at St. Jude, so everyone who participated was happy to help.

Mission 22 is a non-profit organization who combats the ever-rising veteran suicide rate. ... It does this with three main programs; veteran treatment programs, memorials and national awareness. They provide treatment programs to veterans for Post-Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury and other issues they might be facing. BJJ is one of the many alternative treatment programs that they offer assistance with. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu offers Veterans camaraderie and physical activity as they transition to civilian life. Mission 22 is proud to partner with We Defy Foundation to offer Veterans access to BJJ gyms in their area.

Just another way we're working to support our Veterans and save lives.
