Started training with these guys in BJJ a few weeks ago and I'm hooked. They offer a fun, positive training atmosphere where the instructors put an emphasis on technique and position over brute strength and athleticism (which is great when the athlete can't move like he used to). The class environment is easy going, but non-stop and the students work to help each other improve. I highly recommend these guys if you want to learn BJJ and get in better shape while having fun doing it.

As a former bodybuilder for over 25 years, I always thought of myself as a tough and confident man. Two and a half years ago, at the age of 42, I decided to sign up at Champagne’a Martial Arts and join their adult jiu jitsu class, and it was then that I realized I wasn’t as tough as I thought I was. Doesn’t matter how strong you are, jiu jitsu will always win. So today, I don’t acknowledge myself as a body builder anymore. I am a student of Gracie Jiu Jitsu and I’ve learned so much in 2.5 years. With that being said, not only will the excellent staff here at Champagne’s Martial Arts educate you in learning the jiu jitsu art, the students here will also help you learn as well. We’re all one team helping each other to improve each other’s skills. Today, I’m more confident in self-defense skills and I feel I’m much prepared to protect myself or anyone who can’t defend themselves. Furthermore, the comradery we have here will allow you to learn jiu jitsu, make new friends and get a great workout. The same applies to kids classes as well. Last night was my first time rolling in Jiu Jitsu, and I did so with 2 training partners. I learned several things, I need to do more cardio and practice controlling my breathing, and I also learned that I'm not completely helpless against someone much larger than me. I haven't been training long, but I am really enjoying learning from great leaders and training partners. It's not just about combative martial arts, it's self accountability, respect of others, discipline, comradery, team work; and much more. I appreciate everyone that I train with, and blessed by the opportunity at Champagne’s Martial Arts Academy.
